A fisherman's kitchen that grew a rooftop.
Pattinapakkam has been a working fishing village for generations, long before the promenade and the apartments arrived beside it. Meenavan Unavagam opened here in 2015 with one rule that hasn't moved since: nothing on the plate that wasn't in the sea that morning.
We don't hold stock overnight. What the boats bring in decides the day's board — and today that board is served both at street level and up on our rooftop Sea View dining room, open to the Chennai sky.
The cooking stays close to home — coastal Tamil recipes, ground masalas, tamarind and gravies made the way they're made in the houses along this shore — alongside a Chinese and grill menu for the table that wants a bit of both worlds.
